Hello, I’m Beth.
For twenty-eight years, I worked in education. The last two years—in an elementary art room—changed what I wanted my days to look like.
My mother, Linda, found her love of art after retiring from education, too. I sometimes joined lessons at Linda’s Art Studio in Nashville, Georgia, without imagining that I would one day follow a similar path.
After losing my husband, John, I moved from school leadership into the art classroom. There was paint to spill, clay to shape, and a room full of children who reminded me how much joy there could be in making something.
I live in downtown Macon, Georgia, where I write, make art, visit my favorite coffee shops and restaurants, and spoil my dog, Sir Charles. I’m also planning a return to South Georgia, where my family roots run deep.
The story became a bookThe world became
my art studio.
In Macon, I took classes at the 567 Center for Renewal and stARTup Studios. Painting, clay, and glassblowing gave me places to breathe, learn, and make friends.
Soon, a few art supplies became part of every packing list. Projects came along to dinner, on road trips, and to family celebrations. That part of my art career is still going.
